I bought this unit after buying another mini keyboard that didn't have a backlight and frankly the other one better. The keyboard is "highlighted" but only after pressing the key. My guess is that this saves battery life but renders the product unusable. Using the keyboard in a dark or dimmed room is nearly impossible. Without a backlight, it's incredibly difficult to see the keys, as a bright blue indicator light shines constantly in your eyes to let you know the device is powered on and connected. The keyboard itself works well. Everything works as it should. It is durable and easy to use. The light inside the device is very bright, and when it's on, the buttons are clearly visible. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way to keep the backlight on for more than a second or two. after pressing the button. I may be wrong but I haven't found it yet. It's still a good device, but the backlight isn't as useful as I thought it would be.
