I don't know if this case actually protects the GPS from water. What I can say is that the workmanship is particularly poor when it comes to how the clear window is sewn into the case. The plastic window has been sewn to make it wavy, and the wavy surface, not anti-glare, catches and reflects light so the GPS screen is not visible regardless of the relative incidence of the sun or the time of day. I can't even see the screen at night. It's a smart idea that's poorly executed and not worth the price at all.
