I am towing a trailer with electric brakes and another trailer with hydraulic brakes. An electric brake trailer uses a standard round 7-pin connector, while an impulse brake trailer uses the usual four wires for the tail lights plus a fifth wire that connects to the tractor's reverse lights. A backup brake locking solenoid is required to install an impulse brake, and the extra wire requires a total of five wires, i.e. a flat-5 connector. This Hopkins connector is exactly what you need. I don't think there is anyone else who does that. The assembly design of this connector and hardware is great. The metal bracket has mounting holes for vertical or horizontal mounting. The screws that attach the connector to the bracket have hex heads, and the heads are secured in hex recesses molded into the connector for easy installation. The rear electrical connectors are protected by a separate plastic cover that slides over the connector. This allows you to access the wiring connections after installation by sliding the cover without having to completely remove the connector from the vehicle. Comes with silicone grease to prevent corrosion. Great design and good quality. I highly recommend it.
