To be clear, I bought these shorts for the length and style. I am a petite and not muscular king. At 5'6" and 125 pounds it's very hard to find shorts that fit and fit. These 5" above knee shorts are perfect for comfort and style. . They don't hug my small frame and fit definitely not too loose.Soft fabric gives the shorts a retro feel.They aren't stunning with the feel of shiny running shorts.I love that they have front pockets and one of them has a zip.The only problem is that there are pockets 5" is too long and on an item that's too heavy (like an XL phone) they can hang a bit lower than the seam. I don't have much of a problem with my standard sized phone. The laces are long enough to give you extra style points to give, tie a loop that can go under your shirt. They have no lining. Please note. To be honest you have to wear underwear with it to be appropriate in public. I bought them in four colors and will use the blue ones as a bathing suit (with underwear underneath). I'm so happy I finally ended my years of searching (no kidding) to find the shorts I wanted.
