I recently had back surgery and was unable to look after my crying baby several times a night, so I needed a way to sleep together safely. These bumpers are PERFECT for creating a smaller bed in my king bed so we both don't roll around where we shouldn't. Many reviewers stated that they had an odor. I didn't have that, but I washed the liners in drift anyway. They "puffed" (compressed foam style) almost immediately (not nearly the two hours the label says) - so that was a huge plus. There are handles at the top and bottom to keep the pillow in place (another bonus). Threshold brand sheets work best with additional fabric ticking under the mattress. Voila! I actually used it to tether my 8 year old to a queen size bed as he is a crazy 180 degree sleeper. He didn't move, supporting his weight. I think any mom considering bumpers should really try this.
