This bed WAS our dog's favorite bed. It's soft, stretchy and very comfortable. I got this bed as a Christmas present for our four children. One of the dogs got sick on the bed a few days ago. We took the cover off and washed it. Everything was fine until we put the lid back on the filling. The zipper is very poorly made and does not stay closed. The padding is big enough for the zipper to open under the pressure of the padding. The zipper kept being unzipped *wrong* until the cheap plastic piece that goes into the real zipper at the beginning of the zipper (this piece is metal, not plastic, on quality zippers) came loose, preventing the zipper from working properly. Mix that with the fact that the lint kept getting stuck in the zipper teeth. Please note that I didn't offend by trying to close the lid. In fact, I was very careful not to open the zipper the wrong way! This $100 bed lasted 9 months and is now retired. Too bad the return window isn't 9 months or longer because I could get my money back. Be sure to wash this as you may encounter the same problem.
