I was looking for something that would make it easier for my kids to cut bagels. This product is not. We have basic bagels from Winco Foods, nothing special. If you look at the pictures, the bagel is bigger than the slit. The bottom of the food slicer is already in the middle when you look at the holder from above. Why is it narrow in the middle? This will cause the bagel to tear when you press on the blade. The bagel is stuck in the holder. When the blade is raised, one side of the donut remains in the blade compartment. Now you have to stick your fingers in to pull that piece of bagel out — not to mention the warning sign's blade is sharp. As you can see in the photo, the top part of the bagel is all torn. This was the second replacement as the first had a huge nick in the blade. We didn't use it so we don't know if the center of the holder was already there or not. As this was our second attempt we will not attempt a third. There is no quality control for this product. I wanted kids to be safe cutting bagels, no! It's more dangerous than a real knife. Don't waste your $$$ on this particular product. Bring back this one, our second!
