I can't speak to every low review but I returned this HDMI cable first after using it twice in a portable setup. The third time I tried to use it the screen was black and nothing was streaming to my displays (tried on multiple displays and devices to no avail). *CONCLUSION* After packing the HDMI cable for return, I noticed that one of the inputs said "TV" and the other "SOURCE". So I made another attempt at mapping inputs to devices and it worked. I then flipped the cable and was able to reproduce the problem I had when I thought it was defective. Personally, I've never come across an input-specific HDMI cable, but now that I know, I'm hoping this setup will bring plenty of reliable utility. Pro tip: Pay attention to the inputs and connect your devices accordingly.
