Review on Enhance Your Automation System with Global Caché WF2CC Contact Closure by Andy Syla

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The device works well but no software is provided for the end user.

I bought this device to control a circuit over WiFi (iPhone) that I was building for a project. It was easy to set up for my home wifi. Here the instructions end. No mention was made of an iPhone or Android app to control three relays. Eventually I went online and found the iTach website where I downloaded the PC program iTest which at least allows you to type in commands manually to test the relay. It all worked but I still didn't have the end user software to control the relay from my iPhone. I researched further and found some universal iPhone remote apps that had options to control iTach devices. To use these apps I would need to buy apps/creation software, learn the system and then create a remote control. Finally, I read the only review (just before my one above) where someone wrote a PHP server application that does exactly what I need (3 buttons). So I googled how to turn my Rasberry Pi into a web server, downloaded the PHP code and everything worked great (took me about an hour). I finally had a ready solution. This product lacks that. They provide the back end but no front end management software. To make this product a perfect 5 star product they need to provide a simple iPhone/Android app that controls their device. Many thanks to the developer who provided the web server PHP code! That saved my day.

Pros
  • EASY INTEGRATION WITH THIRD PARTY SYSTEMS — WF2CC is based on open systems and works with most PC software and iPhone/iPod/iPad control applications such as iRidium.
Cons
  • Infinitely slow
