Bought for a recent vacation in Peru. As we would be spending some time in the more rural areas of the country, we had concerns about power stability and power spikes. My friend had to bring a very expensive work laptop so we needed a surge protector. This worked great for our needs. We were able to easily charge all of our dual voltage devices - iPhone, iPad and work laptop. Remember this is not a power converter, just an adapter and surge protector. Check the voltage at your device to determine if you also need to purchase a power converter. All of the devices we used (iPhone, iPad and laptop) were 2 volts and could safely be plugged into 110-240V outlets. Do not try to use this adapter with powerful devices such as hair dryers, curling irons or straighteners! They will damage your devices and possibly cause a fire. Do yourself a favor and buy an inexpensive dual-voltage version of the device you want. I bought both the dual voltage travel hair dryer and straightener/iron here at Revain by Babyliss for less than $30 each. Most were 220v. Some of the hotels we stayed in offered 110v and 220v sockets in the bathrooms and hair dryers were already built into the vanity. I would suggest calling or emailing your hotel in advance to find out what facilities they offer.
