I've worked with embedded computers for over 50 years and I'm excited to finally learn Arduino. Here's what I found: a mini CD that contained a drivers directory with some files but no instructions, a documents directory with 4 Arduino-related e-books that referenced hardware other than the one that came with it, a tutorials directory with some lessons that don't cover everything included accessories; they really seemed wrong. Example: The e-book lesson on using the LCD talks about connecting 11 wires; The supplied LCD has 4 connection points. The other shows a button mounted on a circuit board; The included buttons had large pins and needed to be plugged into the included breadboard. At this point I threw away the included CD and went straight to the Arduino developer site. Oh, the CD gives you a link to Github where you can find additional "tutorials", including tutorials for the hardware that isn't included. Conclusion: This is a good basic starter kit at a very affordable price. With this hardware you can then go to the Arduino developer pages and follow the examples there.
