Beautiful appearance, seems comfortable and durable, a downside

My son really liked these shoes, they seem well stitched, soft in the ankle area. He's only worn it a few times and feels comfortable in it. The downside we found is the velcro top. It has a small rubber pad that is too hard to fit in the loop to put the shoes on. It hurt to put it in so I just cut that end off. Looks normal, you can't even see that something was cut off. But I wish I didn't have to do that at the price!
