This player is $20-30 cheaper than the previous generation Sony CD Walkman (D-E350) with identical specs . Looks like. The previous player was made in Japan; this is made in china. Just a hair smaller and lighter than the previous turntable, it lacks the upward-facing chrome knobs that are comfortable on your fingers. They are made of plastic and sit almost inaccessibly and invisibly on the lower, inwardly sloping surface of the player. The reading window of the previous model was not only larger and more clearly marked, it was also easy to read from above; The only way to read the window on the current model is to hold the player close to your face at eye level or higher (I was planning on using the player in the bathroom. Not a good idea unless your toilet tank is 6 feet long). Don't buy the advertised "reduced" price: it's advertised on Sony's website at the same price and no shipping.
