It does exactly what it says in the end, but I've had a lot of problems connecting my Dell UltraSharp 30" monitor to it. Not because of the device was flimsy, it's fairly durable. This was due to a small plastic button located on the top of the unit that pushes down to prevent the monitor mount head from falling and your monitor falling. My 30" was heavy , so I had to hold it in place and tighten the knob with a wrench. I ended up tearing the plastic cover off the button, leaving only a metal stud. My dad was a jack of all trades, so he attached a support bracket under a metal stud to increase downward resistance and prevent the monitor head from falling. Creating the monitor level was hard work. I believe if you don't have a heavy 30 inch monitor it will lessen the problem for you. The brand I really trust for monitor mounts is Vivo, Dam, they're pretty darn easy to set up and solid. I installed my 30" and 24" monitors on one of their mounts which only supported screens up to 24".
