I like this better than my previous temporal thermometer, but it still has some disadvantages. I made sure the thermometer was acclimated to room temperature before use. When used, it offers a very easy and SUPER fast read. I like that it is color coded. I also like that I can turn off the sound so my son won't be woken up when he's sleeping. My problem is that it's not always absolutely accurate. I took it to my pediatrician to compare to hers. I found it pretty close. However, as stated in the instructions, it was not accurate when tested between the eyes. It was a closer inspection in the temple. Overall I like it and it's close enough to give me certainty as to whether or not my son has a fever.
