This is an exact replacement for the original. I didn't realize how much the old head had deteriorated over time until I replaced it. I use this for my personal space and it does an excellent job - closer than any other specialty electronic razor I've used. Of course there is a learning curve when it comes to sideknives. My reaction when I first used the razor this head was designed for was that the side blades were a dangerous design flaw considering it's advertised as a full body razor. But once muscle memory is developed, I've found these side blades to be very useful for accessing areas that the main slide can't reach or properly care for.
