Easy to keep on hand
Many of us PC builders prefer to connect case fans to the motherboard headers rather than directly to the PSU Molex connectors. The problem is that many case fans only come with 2-wire Molex connectors. This adapter lets you do just that. While the 2-wire fan doesn't allow for RPM tracking due to the lack of a tach wire, it allows the BIOS to control fan speed through voltage regulation if the BIOS is designed for it. I always have a few on hand.
