I have Marino wool items that I paid more for, these are just as soft, if not a hair softer. Marino wool in general has a tiny itchy feeling, much less than standard wool, but it is there nonetheless. Don't expect these to be a smooth as synthetics, you will be disappointed. I have gotten used to the feeling. Pretty cool, they included a free pair of wool socks with the order, very nice touch. I'm very pleased with my purchase and will most likely buy another pair, perhaps the lighter material I can wear when it's warmer.
