Works very well, surprisingly. Didn't think I'd have to read the instructions that came with it, but until I did it was a disaster. It only fell off once the first time I used it when plugging in or unplugging the phone. It's important to keep the grip closest to the phone clamp slightly slack. That way the phone will only rotate and wiggle around that connection and not its dashboard connections. By leaving the connection a bit loose, you can also fine-tune the orientation of the phone when adjusting your seat or when someone else is driving. When I saw bits of it barely penetrating my car's vent, I didn't think it could resist. But it was a rock. I would say it's overly complicated except that it works better than the simple ones I've used. It can be as complex as it needs to be and it doesn't really hurt my eyes or get in the way of my black line. I've been using for a few months.
