Review on πŸ”Œ DHT Electronics 2pcs RF Coaxial Coax Adapter: BNC Female to UHF Male PL-259 PL259 - Secure Connectivity for Optimal Signal Transmission by Andrew Schreider

PL259 threaded housing is too long

PL259 Housing thread too long. The PL259 cylinder bumps against the body of what I'm connecting to, even in front of the shield "bolts" (the part of PL259 that engages the tabs on the end of SO239 to prevent cable and pin rotation). with contact the ridges of SO239. The connector is tightened, but the cable and BNC connector continue to rotate when the PL259 housing is lowered. This could damage the internal pin along with the connector on the SO239 it is connected to. I think it will be a great connector if you can shave about 0.1" from the end of the PL259 body (NOT the pin). This should be enough for the PL259 to fully engage and prevent the inner pin from rotating.

Pros
  • Commonly used in RF applications, antennas, WLAN devices, coaxial cables, external Wi-Fi radio antennas, coupling life > 1000 times.
Cons
  • Doubtful
