Worked great. while working

We ordered this player on April 29, 2009 for an overland trip. It worked great and I liked that it had two headphone jacks and the screen rotated so it was flat. However, when it was and attached to the back of the car seat, it was very difficult for the remote control to catch the sensor and hence the remote control did not work properly. Also, the headphones that come with the player are very large and only fit on the child's head. They also don't adjust at all, meaning you can't make them bigger or smaller to fit the listener's head. They were practically useless to us, but another pair of headphones worked fine. We thought a cassette player would be a great way to get sound through the car speakers. It worked fine for about two minutes and then kept shutting down. We didn't even care anymore. The player himself was very good. My kids used it throughout the 3 week trip with no problems. Since then, they've been using it to watch movies in the afternoons. However, my son watched a movie at a quiet time last Saturday and it worked fine. When he was done he put the player on the dresser where we keep it and didn't touch it again until late at night when I went to watch DVDs with it. I took it out of the drawer, put in a disc and it made a very loud buzzing noise that kept going and then it gave me a "no disc" message. We tried cleaning the laser, changing settings, checking region settings, trying several different DVDs and CDs. Nothing worked. It still gives us the message "no disk". Like I said, the player was great while it lasted, but it didn't even last a full year. I find Kobe's 90-day guarantee ridiculous. If you don't use this player very often, you will probably buy it. However, if you plan to use your portable DVD player a lot, be sure to buy something else. This one clearly can't handle heavy use.

Pros

Cons
