The buttons are well made and the mats provide a great grip so your student can move the buttons while learning to press them to press . We teach the cat to use it and it will probably take a little longer than the dog; However, when the time comes, we will buy more knobs. It would be great if these were "capacitive touch" buttons. This allows "light touch" students to more easily activate the buttons. Using an optical sensor inside the device instead of a physical surface-mount button can also reduce the force required to activate the buttons. We do our best to get our student to push harder, although this turns out to be a bit more difficult. then I thought. So happy we got it! Can't wait for our student to start using them more!
