Was looking for a recorder to measure our fountain's electricity usage. Since it's 240v I couldn't just hook up a Killawatt device. This BTMeter was simply attached to a leg leading to the well pump and displayed the electricity consumed during operation. I installed the app on my iPhone and it prompted me to turn on bluetooth. The app then automatically connected to BTMeter and the app displayed the measurement on the meter. I pressed start and loaded the laundry. Then I clicked on "Save" and chose "Save as Excel". I then connected the iPhone to my PC and used iTunes to retrieve the files. I then opened the CSV file as a spreadsheet and was able to see all the measurements, which allowed me to see how many times the pump was turned on, how long it ran each time, and how much current was being drawn. This allowed me to calculate the KVA consumption of the pump, which is usually higher than the kW consumption but can be used as a conservative cost estimate. within 1-1/2 hours at 120 measurements per second) * was able to extract the CSV file into a spreadsheet and calculate the totals there. or chart data, but the data was still written to the CSV file.* There are several steps to transfer the data file from iPhone to computer. It would be better if you could just email the file.
