Easy to use even for beginners!

This was my first time making something like this and I was a little intimidated by the prospect of cutting a hole in a 1.5" pristine granite countertop that I didn't like belonged. THE GOOD: It took me less than 10 minutes as I took my time and checked the hole frequently. Next time probably twice as much. didn't kick off at the angle the guides helped initially. It did most of the work, I just applied a little pressure. The weight of the drill and whatever the pressure was the weight of my hands and arms at an angle had of 15 degrees from the horizontal. Which actually wasn't much. This is an abrasive cutter, so it simply erases the material it's rubbing against. circle that was about a few millimeters from the hole. But it's not a big deal at all. The core fell out immediately. It couldn't be easier. THE BAD: The adhesive wasn't very good and kept peeling off the countertop. I wiped down the countertop with alcohol and made sure the surface was level. But it was polished, maybe hard to keep. At first it seemed to stick fairly well, but water mixed with granite sand seeped into the area in about 30 seconds. Between that and the vibration of the drill, water was running out of my sides pretty soon. No problem, I had another person hold it a little and that took care of it. GENERAL: I would say this is an easy project if you take your time and make sure the drill bit is vertical/straight down. Also rinse the water off once it starts to turn opaque, it seems to work best with plain water but maybe that was just my perception. Keep the drill on low speed, try it and see what you get. In my case, I put the electric combi in drill mode (no impact!) at low speed and pulled the trigger at 20%. Too fast and it seemed like it was just spinning without doing anything useful. For me it was fast enough that I could barely feel or hear its vibrations. YMMV. One reason for the wobble could be that my hole wasn't perfectly straight, and as the hole moved forward I touched the cut surface a bit. Can't complain, worked great. Good luck with your projects!
