After unboxing my kid complained they were too stiff. I loosened the screw on the pivot and they are perfect. They are exactly as described. The size is perfect for kindergarten and not too pointy. The shape looks more grown-up than round-topped babies, which we like too. I don't know if the nonstick coating makes a difference, but kids that age get glue all over the place so it can't hurt. Update that the non-stick coating is really helpful in keeping it clean. They're also tough enough for first grade and not "baby scissors" like blunt ones. In the cheat department, they are silent and can be used for secret DIY haircuts.
