Installation was easy, although we made it a little trickier by splitting the line first so this filter connects to a special mini faucet designed for filtered water. (Instead of wasting filtering on water we don't drink.) My husband and I ran a blind test on the water we received, tap water and water filtered through a jug. removed from the filter after many gallons had passed through) both my husband and I could easily tell the difference. This filtered water was cleaner and tasteless compared to water filtered through a charcoal flavored pitcher and definitely better than tap water with chlorine. Water was taken directly from the sink. It seems that the water in the filter takes on a slightly chemical taste, similar to chlorine from the tap. And if it is not completely washed off, the taste will be somewhat unpleasant. I hope this goes away over time as the filter breaks in more, but at the same time it partially defeats the purpose of a separate filter line. Note: I have not tested my water for lead or other ingredients. I have peace of mind drinking city water filled with random chemicals and old plumbing.
