Sony ICFS1 The clock radio arrived on time (Prime) and in excellent condition. I really like this clock radio and would give it 5 stars if it weren't for a few annoying moments. First the pros: 1. It's a small (4 inch cube) attractive device with an adjustable (3 level) display with amber light). It is very readable and not overloaded with unnecessary information. 2. Frequently used information only. The buttons are on the top of the device, the rest on the back. The snooze bar runs the length of the front of the top of the radio and is easy to activate without pressing any other button while you sleep. Obviously folks at Sony understand that most sleepers aren't very functional when they first wake up. The other control buttons are spaced far enough apart that once you learn the location and purpose of each button, they're easy to activate one at a time. The reset button that automatically resets the alarm the next morning is a really nice feature. The radio reception is very good. An FM antenna built into the power cord seems to work really well. I can pick up FM stations clearly from about 30 miles away. Setting it up takes some effort. a deft touch, but once the frequency is high the signal stays in place. 4. Setting up this little Sony is quick and easy. First, the clock is automatically set to the correct time (eastern time zone). The numbers are in the enclosed instructions. This allows you to adjust the time to your time zone. The changeover between winter and summer time also takes place automatically. Most of the one-way buttons are located on the back of the device where they don't get in the way of everyday use. Now for the two downsides I found: 1. The alarm tone is a joke. I haven't had any trouble sleeping since the first day I got the radio. It's not loud enough and needs to be bigger to do its job effectively. Luckily, the radio is loud enough to get your attention when you're fast asleep. 2. The analog frequency at the top of the radio is too low and inaccurate to help when trying to find a specific radio signal. Not a big problem, but a bit annoying. Overall I'm very happy with this clock radio from Sony and think it's a great purchase, especially at a reasonable price.
