I ordered these lights for a cupboard that is under my stairs (ie sloping) and has no light. However when I tried to place them there it became clear that unless I placed them low and to the sides they wouldn't work and even then the light is limited - it's quite dim and doesn't illuminate as much area, as I had hoped. . . I might as well turn on the overhead light next to the closet and get more light. So I started looking for other uses around the house. The light in my cooker hood has stopped working and can't be replaced so I pulled up one of the lights but it's not bright enough to illuminate the hob. Lights might come in handy in my pantry where it's sometimes difficult to see what's inside, even if it's not very deep. What I'm most interested in though is finding a spot on the stairs or somewhere else where they can light the way when the power goes out. (This kind of thing happens a few times a year when the utility company shuts off the power due to the threat of windy wildfires.) In fact I've placed them there and will be ordering more as the motion detection feature works well and the lighting is an important avenue in the home in the event of a power failure. If you're looking for a not-so-bright table lamp, this might be the one for you. But if you're looking for more lighting, you should look elsewhere or consider alternative ways of using these lights, like I did.
