I don't know why I've never had an oil separator before. This summer I discovered fried green tomatoes. Since I didn't want to keep pouring the oil out, I looked around for a saucepan and a strainer. This larger capacity pot is ideal. The filter works great and is easy to clean. The sieve is fine so the leftover cornmeal doesn't fall into the sieve and the oil goes through easily. The dark gray looks good on my stainless steel stove. Drip saucer is a winner. I highly recommend this pot for keeping used oil clean and fresh for future use.
