I bought this dryer for our caravan. It seems to work very well and remove quite a bit of water from the air. However, I was concerned because the power converter was getting too hot to touch! I have found that the heat is generated because the power converter steps down the 120 volt AC to a much lower DC voltage. With a little experimentation I found that this dehumidifier works great at 12 or 13.5 volts! Since I have 12 volt power plugs in my RV, I decided to unplug the HOT converter box from the power line and plug it in directly. to the 12 volt cigarette lighter plug. Now I can just plug it directly into any 12V power supply and it works great and I don't have to worry about a hot power converter anymore!
