Review on πŸ”΅ Google and TP-LINK's Blue Color OnHub Wireless Router by Kendrick Barron

Revainrating 5 out of 5

An easy to use router and great for the average user.

I've been using it for a few months now and I have to say it's the best router I've ever used. (for the average user) PROS: Amazing range with very strong signal throughout the home. We used it in a 2 bedroom apartment and never lost full signal. In our 4 bedroom house we may need an extension cord but only because we need to place it around the house. The signal goes down well but doesn't reach the far corner of the house in the downstairs guest room. It's hard to explain, but a regular router would never get that far, and this one only gets a 1-2 bar signal that sometimes drops out. I can live with it. Very simple construction. Plug it in, launch the app on your phone, sync it and voila, you've got signal. Speed FAST. I've had several routers that couldn't get past 50Mbps to save your life. This kid darts past it and doesn't look back. I got 100Mbps all over the house and usually averaged around 80Mbps, which I blame my ISP rather than the router (because I get the same thing with a direct connection). Visually appealing. DOES NOT LOOK like a router but generally stands out as a decoration. Routers always have that "technical" look while standing out as the more interesting element in the room. CONS: There is no setting. As a normal internet user who doesn't need to configure my router at all, this is not a disadvantage for me. I can surf the web, check email, play games when I want, and use all my devices with no issues. HOWEVER, a lot of people like to tweak their settings a little more, and this router isn't for them (but those people probably know that and they won't even be reading this review). Only one port for direct connection means you don't have to buy a hub to have more direct ethernet. I bought a good 5 port hub cheaply and it does the job perfectly. You don't really NEED it, but if you have devices that aren't wireless, or just need that forward speed, consider buying a hub. We really like this article and will buy the recommended extensions in the future.
