Review on 💨 Noctua NH-L9a-AM4: Premium Low-Profile CPU Cooler for AMD AM4 (Brown) - Unmatched Cooling Performance for AM4 Processors by Alan Estell

After a week of using the stock ASRock cooler on my Ryzen 3400G in the ASRock Deskmini A300W, I got a little tired of the fairly audible fan noise, so I ordered one of these. Installation was easy enough, but a bit fiddly as you have to install parts on both sides of the motherboard at the same time and the thermal paste can slip. But I did it with minimal slippage. The processor's case temperature was around 75°C during the stress test. Other reviews have led me to believe that I should calculate closer to 60C. But the 75C sounds like it's cool enough to be okay. It operates at 55-60°C for normal gaming and 35-45°C for web surfing and video watching. Someday I will take the cooler off and test + redo the thermal paste layer to see if it can work cooler. I wouldn't call it "nearly silent," but it's definitely quieter than stock. When he's sitting on my desk to my right, I can't hear him unless the room is almost silent. Music, video games, conversations or running air conditioners in the house and in the cooler are below the ambient noise level most of the time. While gaming, it's almost inaudible with regular game audio, which is a big improvement over the stock cooler that can drown out faint gaming noise. I personally would have preferred the hidden black to the signature Noctua colour, but shrug. as I can see, but it's a good compromise cooler. Update: It's been running for over a month now with no temperature issues. Never notice fan noise. My MacBook Pro is much louder than this one.
