Bought this house for my son's elderly Velcro cat who goes outside from time to time. Make it your own with your scent and intend to place it outside by the door. A pet heating pad was placed under the house. Now Velcro almost never leaves the house. It's cozy, warm and the velcro closure is safer from the playfulness of a 10 month old newly adopted kitten. My son said it was very easy to put together. My observation is that while this is a great indoor pet house, there are too many gaps between the velcro attached walls/roof/floor to provide adequate weather protection when placed outside. I fiddled with it to see if an adjustment would help. However, my decision is that this can only be an emergency away from the shelter and not a permanent placement.
