My dog has a severe environmental allergy which causes his paws to become red, itchy and sometimes get infected so I bought these hoping to prevent rather than cure treat. I noticed that after just a day of use, her paws looked better every time she went outside. These shoes protect them from allergens while allowing their paws to heal. I don't have to treat her paws as often since we started using her 5 days ago (e.g. washing her paws after walking, administering prescription/over-the-counter medication for allergy-related itching/inflammation, applying creams, etc. ). I noticed her paws were turning pink again after a few days of use, so this morning I hand washed them in the sink and tumble dried them. I think with consistent use and regular washing to remove allergens this will work much better for us as a preventive measure. At first she wasn't a fan of it, but after a few uses she got used to it and doesn't bother her. I recommend these for dogs with environmental allergies. Getting dressed before each trip is much easier and less time consuming for me than all the procedures I had to do multiple times a day, which isn't entirely effective for her in the summer months anyway.
