Review on Bona Hardwood Cleaner Refill 1 Gallon by Jennifer Wilson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A fantastic cleaner that won't leave your floor clean!

I have been using this floor cleaner for many years. I have about 4,000 square feet of solid oak wood flooring and was advised to use this cleaner by several installers and a family member who worked for a large flooring company for many years. I've also tried unprofessional starch sold at hardware stores. I prefer this cleaner because I feel like it leaves my floors a little cleaner and I like the large bottle with a margin for the price. I use it with Bona microfiber, machine washable pad and mop handle. I tried the Bona mop with attached bottle which allows you to spray from the handle and doesn't have to carry a spray bottle and mop around. Let me just say that filling and leaking was just the start of the problem with this mop. Also, due to the bulkiness of this mop, you cannot get under furniture etc. I have read reviews that say they leave streaks on their floor after using this product. I've never experienced anything other than clean, shiny floors with no traces of coating. I recently read a review of this product and the user wets the mop head before starting and picks it up several times while cleaning the house. I tried this method and I liked it. I feel like it allows the product to go further and makes the blues process a lot easier. I also read that this large bottle is difficult to pour. I feel like it can be a bit messy when you first fill your aerosol can, but I just pour it down the sink and wipe up the spill. That's exactly what you get when you transfer liquid from a large bottle to a small one. I think you could use a funnel if you're really worried about a small leak. Aside from Bona redesigning the spout to make pouring easier, this product is fantastic! I'm on at least my fourth refill and have even started buying for my mom who also uses it on her hardwood floors and has been doing so for years.
