After throwing away some cheap drain protectors that got dirty over time no matter how I soaked and cleaned them, I decided to invest in this silicone OXO protector. I was very impressed! It's big enough to easily fit over my above countertop sink, and (even without the suction cups) the weighted top keeps it in place - even when my faucet runs almost directly on it [see photo]. photo - my water pressure is pretty decent, but your mileage may vary!]. I have medium length hair and it seems to shed almost as much as my cat, but the protective drain cap catches it all and is easy to remove and throw away. Best of all, in my case the silicone didn't hold mold or mildew stains - I could spray and wipe away any dirt with very little effort. It looks like this drain protector will last a very long time. It was a very worthwhile purchase for a few dollars more!
