Review on ๐Ÿšฝ Natures Head Composting Chambers by Brian Samuel

It's very easy to use and a lot easier than emptying a black tank

I've wanted to fit an airing closet in our casita camper for a long time, even before we actually got it, but it took about a half years until we found someone to do the installation for us. There are RV manufacturers that offer it as an add-on, but they're generally very high quality. Unlike most people, due to physical limitations, we knew we weren't physically ready to spend time on our knees to fix this. I've seen videos showing many non-mechanical guys installing them with no problem. While we knew that the fan must be plugged in and running for optimal performance, many users don't seem to be using the fan, and little did we know that lying on the floor to make the electrical connection would take some time ( at least in the Kasita). , which had no practical wiring) until we saw the installer working on it. keep offering and were very glad we did it so professionally. (They informed us that they would be adding this service to their ever-growing list of services they offer.) What I liked was that they took us to this one from another make and model after the engineer running the company headed, had researched it. Incidentally, the cross piece he chose fits perfectly into the wet tub of the casita and can be rotated easily. We had no trouble separating liquid and solid, only opening the hatch to the solids container when needed. According to the manufacturer, no odors occurred when the lid was closed when not in use and the fan was running. In fact, that faint smell that doesn't go away no matter how much and what kind of chemicals we added to the black tank is gone. It is very easy to see when the urine jug is full as the level rises over the rim. a base that holds the bin and leaves enough room at the top to give you enough time to empty it when it suits you (ie not in the middle of the night or when it's raining). Since the jug has a screw cap, no urine spills out when entering the toilet by carrying it by the attached handle. We have no problem with a gap of three days or more when we empty it. We used coconut flakes purchased in bricks here at Revain <https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N1YP8O6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1> as the composting medium. We place a brick in a 2 1/2 gallon Hefty Jumbo Slider Bag <https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00555EWJU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1>, add water and then crumble it. (Don't believe the video that says you should only add one cup of water. Nature's head advises using five cups, which makes crumbling that much easier.) If you look, you'll see that there's more than just a cup of water gives container for solids. , and when you apply TP, you'll notice it slightly, but there's really no bad smell. When it's time to empty the bottom bin, simply detach it, place a bin liner on top and turn it upside down. If you have to carry it out of the bathroom to empty it and it seems too heavy for you, a small IKEA trolley should help. With the fan running, the solid particles dry out and weigh less. Any residual material stuck to the walls of the composting chamber simply gives the next "batch" a head start on composting. mounted, like the original toilet, on Casita's black cistern which makes it a bit high. So we attached the Suction Cup Assist Handle <https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006FHB5Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1> to the fiberglass wall of our wet tub next to the toilet and it worked just fine. Which brings me to another thing I really love, which is the ability to continue using the wet bath the way it was originally intended, it's not being compromised by the Head of Nature. I can close the shower curtain to block the toilet, but I can also let the bathtub get wet while showering and end up with a clean bathroom that just needs a quick wipe down with a microfiber towel. Clean up. As for other benefits, there are quite a few of them. A dry dock of any kind is much easier without flushing water, so the water supply will last longer if we don't have connections and above all we want to save money. It's also great for winter camping as it eliminates one of the worries many people have about pipes freezing. Since the state parks in the area where we camp most often, the Adirondacks, are not affiliated, this is an advantage even for state campgrounds. We have a portable waste tank and will continue to use it for waste water, but of course without a black tank to empty, we don't have to make as many trips to the landfill. By freeing ourselves from the hassle of draining blackwater, we are now much better positioned for longer trips to more remote areas and look forward to future trips.
