This set of shakers reminds me a lot of my mom's name brand set except her set had a round center where the holes were.These went through the dishwasher well and came out perfectly. I put the top in my silverware basket that has a couple of larger size areas for these types of items. Everything came out well.I filled them up and decided to use one for my SPG (salt pepper garlic) instead of plain pepper. This makes it very easy to use my SPG or salt and when closed it is nice and tight to keep the spices fresh and moisture and bug free. One thing about the top being tight is that it might be difficult if you have weak or arthritic hands to fill and then put the top back on without assistance.These are coming with me into the RV for traveling. They are perfect and fit well into my RV pantry. They will keep everything moisture free and fresh while traveling and we can use them outside on a picnic table as well. If my RV had the outside kitchen, I would feel good about leaving these in that area as well.The red is a pretty color and just right for my kitchen which has a lot of red in it.Overall, these are good quality and I am happy with them.The price of $8.99 at the time of this review is competitive but there are others that are less expensive that look just like these.
