Clear picture and excellent response time for general use. Looks great out of the box. Comes with high-quality features that you don't typically get in a monitor at this price point. 1920 x 1200 is ideal for typical desktop use. The extra height makes the monitor appear larger than it really is. You can sit next to him without feeling overwhelmed. When gaming, the response time is a bit slow, probably around 8ms, but that's to be expected for this type of panel. Response times are still excellent for such a good image at this price point. It's not a gaming monitor, but it fills that role better than many competing panels. There's no software acceleration to compensate for the slow panel. That's what many inexpensive monitors at 120Hz and above do, even in the $200 range. This is a very high quality desktop monitor for the money. Would buy again.
