So it's not bad but I wish I had the same ones with wheels. The problem is that it should be about 1/4 inch above the surface of the rug, but it sits right on top of it. So it sucks up the (cheap) carpet from the floor when I'm vacuuming around the apartment. I was hoping it would be smoother. Pretty difficult to maneuver with that kind of power clinging to the carpet. Overall, I'm not upset that I got this. It works as advertised and is stable on non-carpeted floors. Maybe it's just my carpet. And it works better than the standard attachments that come with the Ridgid. I don't have hardwood floors, but I could see this thing scratching your hardwood floors. I use and everything is ok.
