I didn't know NATO leather straps were popular but I'm glad I decided to take a look. While the material probably doesn't match the original design specifications for tough use, the weather-resistant watch strap is a great everyday accessory for fans of the subtle military style. Especially in black, the matt finish looks very "hidden" and low-signal - invisible to radar, so to speak. Darker colors and fine grain make each watch stand out. Leather has the smooth surface of silicone straps without the sticky rubber feel. On the contrary, since the inside of the band has a light pile, it feels quite soft on the wrist. While I've paired the 20mm strap with a modest 38mm B&R, I see the wider versions comfortably carry the high-performance wristwatch that some people like. The contrast stitching could have been a bit straighter, but there were no protruding ends and no burrs on the hardware. Great value for embellishing useful design.
