Review on Audio-Technica ANC7b-SViS QuietPoint Noise-Cancelling Headphones with In-Line Mic and Control by Steve Yatnalkar

When I bought these headphones I bought them because I was blown away by reviews comparing them to Bose QC headphones. I wish I had paid more attention to the lower rated reviews (which I later found to be numerous and fairly consistent). The noise cancellation was good while it lasted. The sound quality is really poor when ANC is off, but as soon as you turn it on, the audio gets louder and more detailed. After less than a year of use, I noticed noise when touching the ANC switch. This noise also occurred when the switch was not being touched, which prompted me to touch it and change its position a bit to make it stop. Over time, this problem got worse and worse (this lasted for several months). Add to that the problem with the ear cushions: the leather began to tear, loosening the foam inside and rendering the phones inoperable. This happened with both cups. Even when I insisted on using it (trying to press the foam against the corner of the cup to adjust it to my ear), the false contact in the ANC switch was now unbearable: the audio was muffled, only one side played Music, and I constantly heard noise. Even with ANC off. Now after 1.5 years of use the phones are complete junk and I'm replacing them.
