I can hear the person I am talking to quite well, even though he is using a cell phone with a handset. The problem seems to be that you have to speak DIRECTLY into the phone for them to hear you. The style and looks of this vintage landline phone will satisfy any old phone nostalgia you have. I am very satisfied when I end a conversation; and I can feel and hear the "click" of the receiver landing on the mount.
