I bought this in 2016 as a checkpoint before Hurricane Matthew. It worked perfectly for this event. Less than a year later, Hurricane Irma is approaching and the battery has failed completely. When you charge it, you can use the radio for 1 second before the battery runs out, or use the flashlight for 5 seconds. I wanted to use it for radio updates so I had to leave it plugged in, that doesn't help in the event of a power outage. Alternatively, I could keep it running uninterrupted, but the moment I stopped, the battery drained almost instantly. You can't rely on it for something you only need to use occasionally. I can take it apart and see if I can replace the battery myself, but I'm very disappointed. Update: I've tried replacing the battery but the screw won't come out. You can twist it with a screwdriver all day, it just spins. The latch is still closed and I would have had to open the case to replace the battery. avoid it
