Silicone adhesive emits acetic acid fumes when curing; You know you have good things! The (reusable) lid actually works well. My previous batch expired on 11/2013 but things were like new. There's a big difference in how hard you should squeeze when the tube is cold or warm. One use case: I had a rear end and the trunk lid and matching body were warped leaving large gaps. When I was driving with the driver's window down (fresh air deflector off), the venturi effect of the wind blowing through my open window pulls the air out and pushes it through the rear seat with the exhaust fumes from the leaky trunk. I removed the back seat, closed the trunk, climbed in, pushed out the rubber pad so it would fit the trunk lid properly, then glued it in place with a Dow Corning 732. even fill big gaps with this awesome stuff. The exhaust no longer floats past my nose out the window.
