Review on πŸ”ͺ Freud Dia Miter Shank 99 034: Precision Cutting Tool for Accurate Miters by Jorge Eckstein

I wish I had bought them sooner

This bit set is well worth the extra money. Most T&G bit sets limit you to a 1/4 inch panel. You can use board sizes up to 3/8" with this kit as the slotting cutter comes in two pieces that expand with the included shims. Cut very sharp edges and cut as fast as I could feed the wood. When changing from slot to tongue you will need to readjust the cutter height. The shank length is not calibrated to simply swap out one drill for another. This can be a blessing in disguise as it forces you to figure out the height of the router and gives you the chance to perfect it by making trial cuts in the scrap. When cutting the comb end, be sure to secure your work piece with a piece of scrap or it will break loose when the drill bit comes out of the wood and leave a tiny indentation on the surface of the shoulder as the work piece slides off the bearing. This problem only occurred when trimming languages and only when I didn't use fallback.
