The individual slots are not really usable for longer remotes as this has no real structure to keep its shape. Unless the edges are pinned to the chair, anything in the large pocket pulls the outer edges inward and the upper edge outward by several inches, so reaching over it and finding the individual remotes in their slots is an exercise in frustration. I just dump all the remotes into the large pocket and don't use the individual slots. I don't use the large pocket for my kindle or ipad because that kind of makes it unusable for remotes. I don't hate it, but I don't love it since I can only reasonably use it for one function, not the two it's meant for.
