Great hat for kids I think.
We love these hats (bought 3 of these) for our kids. Enough sun protection, they stay on, kids don't mind wearing them (ages 8-12), not too hot, the cord doesn't bother or irritate the chin/neck. Sturdy, reliable, it hasn't faded much after a year of wearing.

- The valve stays up and doesn't flop everywhere. I like that the strap has a safety feature and will break if you pull hard on it.
