Review on Dunlop Winter Maxx SJ8 265/60 R18 110R by Adam Walendzik ᠌
The best thing for the money, I'm glad I chose this option.
Before these tires, I always rearranged winter and summer tires, and in winter I always put studded tires for "reliable braking." But I bought my wife a Freelander on a winter Dunlop SJ6, the previous owner drove it all year round. And I was surprised to find that in winter these tires in all conditions behave no worse than my studded Nokian Hakka 8, and in summer they are also very comfortable. After that, I decided to throw out hemorrhoids from my life with a change of seasonal tires, I found new Dunlop SJ8 in the summer at a nice price, put it on and I've been getting high for 2 years now. During this time, the mileage is about 30,000 km, tire wear is about 3 mm, enough for another two years for sure. Tires paid off only on savings on tire fitting and seasonal storage fees (I have these expenses of 14,000 per year, 7,000 per season). These are tires from a series - set and forgot about 5 years that way .
- The ideal all-season all-season tire. Very quiet. They have been on my Range Rover Sport for two years now, both in winter and summer. I travel both in Hong Kong and intercity (Hong Kong). In winter, it confidently holds the road and slows down both on fresh loose snow, and on packed snow at intersections, and on ice, I practically don’t feel the difference with summer driving. Never stalled in snowdrifts, ABS rarely works when braking. Naturally, the driving style must be consistent with the weather conditions. Summer is also good in any weather. They do not swim in the rain, they drain water perfectly. In the heat they hold the road like normal summer tires. I have not tried super-aggressive driving modes with serpentine cornering at a speed of 120 and drift, and the car is conducive to a comfortable ride, and not annealing. I don't see any wear and tear in the summer. There is practically no noise from them either in winter or in summer.
- Compared to others that have had riding experience, there are none! I went on different top brands of tires (Nokian, Dunlop, Bridgestone) - here they periodically met jambs. Some were noisy, others didn’t hold the road well and the car had to be “caught” and taxied on bumps and in the slightest rut, others were very thin - they pierced the sidewalls twice a season on not the biggest bumps, I had to buy new tires and pay for tire fitting. These tires have nothing of the kind, everything that is important to me is excellent in them: quiet (!), good driving performance, durable.
