The toaster works great. I just made an English muffin and sourdough bread. Both great fried. I was going to post pictures but the toast was eaten while I was taking pictures of the toaster! There are multiple settings including Cancel, Reheat, Freeze, and Bagel. Use the knob to adjust from level 1 to 8. When you push the lever down, a ring of light appears around the button. I followed the directions and used the toaster a few times on level 8 with no bread to burn off any leftover production oils. It was an odor that went away after the second time. This is typical for any device that uses heat. The toaster is twice the weight of my old toaster, this one weighs 5.5#. I only mentioned it because I was a bit surprised when I got my hands on it. It has a great design and is very beautiful. This can be a great housewarming or wedding gift, or just to treat yourself. I don't think the photos do it justice. I hate to say how beautiful this device is, but it is!
